It was on such a day—bright, open, and filled with light—that Ocean Tide found its beginning.

We were seated on a weathered rock along the shoreline, surrounded by the gentle rhythm of waves meeting land. Above us, the sky stretched endlessly, brushed with soft white clouds drifting without urgency. Yet, beyond this brightness, the sea revealed another side of itself—darker, deeper, almost introspective. It was this contrast that drew us in.

In that moment, we realised that the ocean is never just one expression. It carries both lightness and depth, clarity and mystery. The surface may shimmer under the sun, but beneath it lies a vast, silent world. Ocean Tide was born from this quiet dialogue between what is seen and what is felt.

As we translated this experience into form, we focused on contrast as our guiding element. Lighter tones were introduced to echo the openness of the sky—soft, airy, and expansive. In contrast, deeper shades emerged to represent the ocean’s profound stillness, creating a visual balance that feels both calm and powerful.

The glazing process became an exploration of movement and depth. Subtle transitions between tones were carefully layered, allowing the surface to carry a sense of flow—like tides shifting with quiet intention. Each piece reflects this duality, where brightness does not overpower depth, and darkness does not diminish light.

Through Ocean Tide, we sought to capture more than a coastal scene. We wanted to preserve a feeling—a moment of solitude, reflection, and quiet connection with nature. It is a reminder that within simplicity, there is complexity, and within stillness, there is motion.

This collection invites us to pause, to observe, and to appreciate the harmony between opposites. Just as the sea holds both light and shadow, we too carry layers within us—each shaping who we are.

Because sometimes, the most profound beauty lies in the gentle meeting of light and depth.

[11
34,10
post-435","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-creators-journal","tag-ocean-tide","tag-potters-art
["GET
