Creator’s Journal: Awaiting the First Firing of 2026

As ceramic makers, we have learned that every new piece begins the same way—with raw clay in our hands. It is humble, unshaped, and full of possibilities. What it becomes depends on patience, intention, and the courage to trust the process.

A new year is much like that fresh clay. It has not yet been fired, not yet tested by heat or time. Along the way, there will be moments of uncertainty—just as glazes transform in the kiln and outcomes are never fully revealed until the firing is complete. Yet it is precisely this anticipation that gives meaning to the journey. We shape carefully, we wait faithfully, and we believe that the fire will bring forth something beautiful.

May the year ahead be kind to our hands and steady in its heat. May our efforts mature with time, our dreams gain strength through challenge, and our patience be rewarded with results richer than we imagined. Like a well-fired piece, may the year emerge balanced, enduring, and full of quiet brilliance.

We wish everyone a new year that is abundant, meaningful, and truly fruitful—one that you will look back on with pride, just as a craftsman does when a long-awaited piece finally emerges from the kiln.
